    A group for collecting and sharing information concerning Vistytis, Lithuania and all those individuals and families who have their origins there or for those who have an interest in the town. Before WWI Vistytis was in the powiat (district) of Wolkowyszk in the gubernia (province) of Suwalk in the Russian Empire. In Russian it was known as Wysztynce, in Polish it was known as Wysztyniec and by the Prussians as Wystiten. In Yiddish (the language of the Jewish people in Eastern Europe) it was known as Vishtinetz. Any discussion about Vistytis is welcome, about visiting or living there, its history or the genealogy of those who were born or lived there.
