South Peace Regional Archives
South Peace Regional Archives was established in January 2000, the first regional archives in Alberta. The Archives is funded by four municipalities in the south Peace River district of Alberta: the City of Grande Prairie, the County of Grande Prairie, the Municipal District of Greenview, and the Municipal District of Spirit River. It is governed by the South Peace Regional Archives Society. The mandate of SPRA is to acquire, preserve and make accessible to the public records of on-going value which reflect the political, social, economic and cultural life of the south Peace River Country of Alberta. These records are donated by individuals, families, businesses and organizations; and are in all formats and media, including textual records, photographs, films, sound recordings, maps, plans and drawing.
