Splatter: The GEDCOM Population Distribution Heatmap is a free web service that will splatter all the locations in your database across the face of a fully featured Google Map. In Splatter, location markers are grouped into clusters and the total number of persons found within each cluster is displayed inside the cluster icon. These clusters are also represented on the surface of the world as a heat map. The initial view gives a great overview of the world wide distribution of the people in your database. Zooming in expands clusters and exposes location markers. Hovering over these displays a conversation bubble with the list of persons found there.
Stick a Pin In It is a free web service that will allow you to stick a pin in any location on a fully featured Google Map. Clicking on the pin will display a conversation bubble giving the exact address and coordinates. You can also move the pin to a new location to fine tune your results. The Home button allows you to undo your move. This is a great tool for finding specific location coordinates and descriptions for your GEDCOM file.
