Föreningen för Smedsläktsforskning | - FFS

Föreningen för Smedsläktsforskning – FFS is an organisation especially focusing on research about blacksmiths and their families with roots in Sweden since the 1650s and on iron foundries. FFS was founded in 1994 and its main task has been to create and publish a database of blacksmiths and their families. In May 2012 it contained information on 220 000 persons and is steadily growing. Based on the database the organisation produces almost annually, a DVD and edits 3-4 leaflets on blacksmith families.
