HUBBELL Family Historical Society DNA Project
The Hubbell Family Historical Society (THFHS) has embarked on a DNA adventure by making it possible for anyone with the HUBBELL surname and it derivatives to post and compare GEDmatch kits with each other. THFHS was founded in 1981 to trace the descendants of Richard HUBBALL of Worcestershire, England who emigrated to the New Haven Colony c1640. While THFHS has had a Y-DNA project going for years, through Family Tree DNA, the organization recently decided to expand its reach by allowing anyone with HUBBELL ancestry to compare their GEDmatch profiles through its website. This initiative expands the project into the area of autosomal DNA and is open to anyone wanting to trace their HUBBELL ancestry.
