33rd Battalion 1st AIF (Facebook) New!
A World War 1 Infantry Battalion. 33rd Battalion, 9th Brigade, 3rd Division, II ANZAC Corps. The brother Battalions were 34th, 35th and 36th. The Battalion was formed in Armidale, NSW in January 1917 and finally demobilised in May 1919. Commonly known as "New Englands Own". The cadre of members were from NSW and South East Queensland. There are over 3,250 known members of this Battalion.
