  JCHS maintains the Heritage Center, housing a museum and research library. The mission is to preserve the history of Johnson County, 1833 to the present, and her families. Resources focus on Johnson County, Arkansas and the River Valley, but holdings include microfilmed census returns and local newspapers of early 20th century, vertical files containing community and school information, obituaries, local businesses and events, published sources on many states, and a family history collection. The museum and research library is currently open Fridays only between 10 and 4.
