- Overleigh Cemetery
Online searchable database covers the years 1850-1950 and includes over 60,000 entries. The database includes information on every person buried in the cemetery: name, description, address, age, date of death and burial and grave number.

The registers cover staff working over a large area of the North West including western Cheshire, Shropshire, Herefordshire and nine counties in North and mid Wales. They do not include stations in the east of Cheshire (eg Crewe). The registers provide a summary of an employees career, the actual details varying slightly between registers. The registers cover the period c. 1869 when the first register was compiled, to c 1950 although no one companys registers cover this whole period. The index contains around 25,000 entries.
- Wills Database
Index covers the years 1492 - 1940 and contains 130,000 entries. It covers probate documents proved at Chester mainly for Cheshire residents. The index supplies name, place of residence (at the time of making the will), occupation and date of probate (usually within a year of death, although it can be much longer).
It also indicates the type of record which survives. These could be a Will, 'Admon' or administration bond (normally when there is no will), Inventory of personal property or Codicil or other probate documents.
