What's New on Cyndi's List?
New Links Submitted in February 2008
- As new links are submitted to me via the Submit a New Link form, they will temporarily be added to a page of uncategorized links for that month.
- The links are added automatically by a computerized script that runs each night. They appear *exactly* as they were submitted by the visitor. The links are also forwarded to the CyndisList Mailing List through the automated script.
- Once I place these links in their permanent home on various category pages on Cyndi's List, I will remove them from these uncategorized pages.
- New links are added to the individual category pages on Cyndi's List as we have time to visit, verify and examine each web site.
- You can identify new links and updated links on Cyndi's List by looking for either of these graphics:

- Graham Maxwell Ancestry - Publications
Scottish Borders and Dumfriesshire 1841, 1851, and 1861 census indexed transcriptions.Prices start at £3.99 for an entire parish and surnames for each parish are available for free on-line! We have endeavoured to make the census transcription publications as accurate as possible, by carefully comparing entries for the same families in different census years to highlight errors and anomalies. Although this is time-consuming, the reward is ever more accurate information for tricky searches. Careful note is made of women who change between their married and maiden names, and illegitimate children who change between their father’s and mother’s surnames. In these cases the individual is indexed under both surnames.

Did you know you may have ancestors from Atlantic Canada? Tens of millions of people descended from pre-Loyalist Nova Scotia and New Brunswick prior to the American Revolution. Until very recently, this group of early settlers had been relatively ignored by the genealogical community. However, the book fell out of print after her passing only a few years later. Now, for a limited time, this genealogical treasure is available again for a limited time.

- NEW Lichtenberger Family DNA Project
I have established a Lichtenberger DNA project at FamilyTreeDNA.Participation in the project provides a testing discount. The PRIMARY purpose is to validate a connection between the early Pennsylvania Lichtenberger/Listenberger/Lustenberger/Lighthill families as suggested by the research. If validated through DNA testing this would connect the large families researched of Casper Lichtnerberger and Johann Killian (Gillian) Lichtenberger and also Lichtenberger Pioneers of Indiana. The SECONDARY purpose is to bring together other Lichtenberger families and to complement the genealogical paper trail.Testing is simple – requiring only a cotton swab of saliva from the mouth. Because the Y-chromosome DNA is passed from father to son virtually unchanged for hundreds of generations, the testing will focus on males with the Lichtenberger/Lighthill/Listenberger/Lustenberger/Lichtenberg surname. Interested females are not excluded; but, must have a brother, father or male cousin submit a test.
