What's New on Cyndi's List?
New Links Submitted in September 2007
- As new links are submitted to me via the Submit a New Link form, they will temporarily be added to a page of uncategorized links for that month.
- The links are added automatically by a computerized script that runs each night. They appear *exactly* as they were submitted by the visitor. The links are also forwarded to the CyndisList Mailing List through the automated script.
- Once I place these links in their permanent home on various category pages on Cyndi's List, I will remove them from these uncategorized pages.
- New links are added to the individual category pages on Cyndi's List as we have time to visit, verify and examine each web site.
- You can identify new links and updated links on Cyndi's List by looking for either of these graphics:

- Treex.com - A totally innovative way to build and show Family Trees on the Internet.
TreeX.com is a new Web site where relatives, friends or professional genealogists can work together or alone to help grow their family trees. Through this innovative Web-based building interface they easily construct family trees, keep track of family ancestry and post photographs and historical text. The owner of the family tree can invite as many people as he wants to assist him in this effort. Trees are grown by inputting data directly to the site or by accessing computer files saved in the required GEDCOM format. Other information, photos and videos can also be inserted into the tree generically or for each member, improving quality and scope of the tree. Furthermore, a family tree can be kept confidential, set to public view or set to allow specified persons or relatives to access it -- and forums and user message boards have also been made available to make the exchange of information easier.

It includes: (1) a checklist of records, with space for recording whether and where the record is duplicated; (2) various options for duplicating and protecting records, and the pros and cons of each; (3) a discussion about why certain records may need to be certified; and (4) a brief introduction to caring for historical family records.
