Bison Briefs began as bi-monthly publication of North Dakota Agricultural College in January-February 1917, titled College and State. The articles dealt with events and activities of the College. Issues often focused on specific topics, such as education, alumni, the Cadet Corps, commencement, North Dakota, homecoming, high school seniors, et cetera.
