Two Danish historians offer genealogical services in the Danish archives. We take basis, among other places, in the parish registers, census papers, and probate and estate administration cases. Through these exciting sources it is often possible to trace a family back to the mid 1600s.

To mark the 69th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day, BBC Scotland has gathered data on the thousands of Scottish men and women who lost their lives during the Second World War. This data, collected using the Commonwealth War Graves Commission's (CWGC) online search tool, provides details on 21,740 Scots killed between 1939 and 1947.

Svenskt Biografiskt Lexikon (SBL) / Dictionary of Swedish National Biography
The Dictionary of Swedish National Biography is a biographical dictionary that was first published in 1917. This dictionary is a general list, based on first-hand sources, of significant people and their achievements at various stages in the development of Swedish society. The Dictionary of Swedish National Biography is part of Riksarkivet, the National Archives of Sweden, and its publication is financed by Government funding. 33 volumes have been published up to 2013. Each volume comprises 800 pages, and to date more than 9 000 family and individual biographies have been published, spanning some 25 000 pages and so making the Dictionary of Swedish National Biography one of the biggest reference works in the Nordic countries.
