Return of destitute poor removed from England to Ireland, from 1 December 1860 to 1 December 1862; the port of departure in England and the port of arrival in Ireland; also the number of years each person had resided in England; and the cause for and date of each removal.
The first Ordinance relating to the maintenance of the destitute was passed in 1843. The Destitute Board was appointed in 1849 and was responsible for overseeing and relieving those who had no means, or relatives, to support themselves.
