The Southern Museum’s impressive Archives & Library contains 3,000+ linear feet of archival material categorized into over 100 collections. Museum archivists have taken great care in preserving company records, presidents’ files, accounting and payroll records, engineering drawings, blueprints, glass plate negatives, photographs and correspondence from various businesses representing the railroad industry in the Southeast after the Civil War. The Museum’s collections include the Glover Machine Works, David W. Salter Collection, and the Southern Railway Historical Association.
