The WEINITSCHKE family of Kreis Grottkau in Schlesien (Silesia) was founded by Joseph WEINITSCHKE and his wife Cunigunda WEIGMAN in the late 1750s. Joseph was a schoolteacher, church organist, and composer of religious music. The descendants of Joseph and Cunigunda are now found throughout Germany, and in the U.S. as well.
