Johan Philip Luke (Laux, Loeck, Look, Lauck, and other spelling variations) arrived in New York harbor in 1710. In 1732 he and Jeremiah Van Rensselaer entered a lease agreement for a farm in the West Manor of Rensselaerwyck located in the present day Town of Bethlehem in Albany County, New York.
